Moroso Vacuum Pumps
Built for racers and engine builders who craved the performance, Moroso racing vacuum pumps are manufactured from billet aluminum and feature a precision-machined shaft, rotor, and bearings that will withstand the rigors of racing. They work by producing high crankcase vacuum, which increases power by improving ring seal, preventing blowby, and detonation. Allowing the use of lower-tension piston rings for less friction. These positive pumps are much more consistent and effective than header-mounted evacuation systems.
**Normally we aim for setting vacuum to 12 in of vac for any N/A application. Any more vacuum can cause engine damage due to a lack of “oil mist” in the engine lubricating key engine components. Make sure to periodically clean pump and keep lightly lubricated with WD-40. PUMP WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY IF IT IS FILLED WITH ENGINE OIL! An excess of engine oil in the pump will cause the vanes to “stick” and the vac pump will either stop working all together or become increasingly inefficient.
This pump is meant for mounting on the BB Chevy cylinder head, however it will work with a multitude of applications that have engine plates. The back bracket can pivot 360 degrees and can be clocked in any position.
