Moroso vacuum pump regulators are manufactured from 6061 billet aluminum and have a smooth finish to add a bit of dress-up under the hood. The valves can be disassembled for easy cleaning, and will work with any vacuum level. The vacuum relief point is adjustable by shimming an internal spring to get the amount of vacuum desired.
-12AN Inlet; Relief valve is installed on the INLET side of the vacuum pump. Vac relief is regulated by shims.
*4 shims; 18 inches of vacuum
*3 shims: 16 inches of vacuum
*2 shims: 14 inches of vacuum
*1 shim: 12 inches of vacuum
*0 shim: 10 inches of vacuum
Properly regulating inches of vacuum is very important as too much vacuum can cause engine damage due to lack of oil “mist” causing insufficient engine oiling. 12 inches of vac on a standard naturally aspirated engine is about what we aim for when setting up a bracket application.
